We, the members of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church Parish, Lafayette, Louisiana, believe that we share in the mission of Jesus Christ as expressed in the gospel. As a Parish, we seek to live out that belief as a community of worship, shared faith and service. We care for the many gifts we have been given and seek to use them wisely. We are witnesses to the words of Christ. We proclaim His gospel and we are His Church. We respond with compassion to both the spiritual and corporal needs of those around us. Our parish life centers on the Eucharist as we celebrate the presence of the Risen Lord as a baptized faith community, we are filled with the Spirit of Jesus who brings new life to us all.
All parishioners will be given the book "Nine Words" by Allen Hunt on the weekend of July 18-19...Deacon Joel will explore the contents of the book (which is about the "Fruits of the Holy Spirit" from Paul's Letter to the Galatians, ch. 5)...The study will be held on five consecutive Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm in
the Family Center...The dates:
July 29; August 5, 12, 19 & 26
Bring a Bible and a friend!
The RCIA Program (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) offers anyone who is not a Roman Catholic the opportunity to become a full member of the Church. If you would like to explore the possibility of becoming a Catholic, the RCIA program will begin on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 6:00pm in the Meeting Room of the Family Center. The program continues every Wednesday evening until Easter 2016...For more details and to discuss if you are a proper candidate, contact Fr. Gil or Deacon Frank Cormier at the parish office (981-0874). Please do so before the beginning of September!
Do you understand the meaning behind the parts of the Mass? In a video-based study, Dr. Edward Sri explores the roots of the words and gestures we experience at Mass and explains their significance.
This study will be offered at two different times;
*Tuesday mornings from 10:00-11:30am (beginning on October 13);
*Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm (beginning on October 14)
This is a five week course! Both will be held in the Family Center!
